  • June Virtual Member Meeting & Past Presidents Event
    Starts: 12:00 pm
    Ends: June 29, 2021 - 1:00 pm

    Location: Zoom

MMSD has a multi-year project underway to remove the concrete channel lining and create a naturalized streambed and wider floodplain to slow down flood waters in Milwaukee County. The portion of the project in Pulaski Park in the city of Milwaukee involved removal of about 1600 feet of concrete channel lining, realignment of the watercourse to increase the 'meander' of the river, installation of a naturalized streambed, and expansion of the floodwater storage area to slow down and store floodwaters during severe rain events. It also included improvements to Pulaski Park, including replacement of the existing pedestrian bridge, the playground, and the basketball court.

John McCarthy from Graef will lead a presentation on the background, design approach, and construction of the concrete channel removal and streambank re-naturalization of the Kinnickinnic River in Pulsaki Park.

Registration will be required to receive credit for 1.0 PDH. Registration will be limited, so be sure to reserve your spot today!

We will also take a few minutes to honor our Branch Past Presidents, especially our current Past President Nick Bobinski for his years of dedication to the Southeast Branch Board.
